DOT.WORLD OFFICIAL USER AGREEMENT

This agreement is made for the use of the DOT.world platforms (DOT.world, DOT.world platforms, platforms, system). DOT.world enables people and organizations to create structured, community platforms dedicated to specific topics. These platforms empower you to discover and share the best content on the topics you care about, and stay connected with friends and people who share similar interest. Together, we share and structure interesting web content and contribute to the DOT.world platforms! With your commitment to a few terms, the DOT.world platforms will be great places for all of us!

Dear DOT.world users. We have prepared these terms between StructWeb B.V. ("we", "our," "us") and you. To set the terms for a happy use for everyone, this agreement is made for the use of DOT.world, its platforms and its services, as designed by StructWeb B.V.. The goal of this agreement is to stimulate fun and inspiring places for everyone.

PRIVACY

We distinguish four types of user-related information; account information, user contributions, usage data and technical data. We know how important your privacy is, and although we need to collect some information (usage data and technical data) to improve the user experience, we try to anonymize the collected information to the maximum extent. We provide you with a lot of options to control the extent in which your information becomes visible to 1) followers, 2) other users and 3) the general public. Please take a look at StructWeb B.V.'s privacy policy for more details on how we deal with and safeguard your privacy.

USE OF THE DOT.WORLD PLATFORMS

We are happy to grant you access to the DOT.world platforms in the manner described in this agreement. You are not allowed to produce or reproduce derivative works, distribute copies, publicly display or make commercial use of the DOT.world structures and content shared on the platforms, except when authorized by StructWeb B.V. If you are unsure about your usage of the DOT.world platforms, don't hesitate and email us at info@dot.world.

FREE AND PAID PLATFORMS

Anyone can apply to register their own DOT.world platform, and there are two options: open communities, and organization/corporate platforms.

The open community platforms are free and democratic. Users vote on proposals to decide what is added and deleted on these platforms, and they also determine what's trending by upvoting and downvoting content. However, on newly registered platforms, the use of proposals will be temporarily suspended, to facilitate the growth of the platform. However, once there are 10 registered users or more, proposals will be reinstated and all actions regarding the content or structure of the platform will have to be voten on.

On the open community platforms there will occasionally be sponsored content and advertisements, which will be properly signaled. Nonetheless, we will always show ads and sponsored content that is relevant to you and the community.

On the other hand, the organization/corporate platforms are provided for a monthly fee and they may slightly deviate from being fully democratic. The owners of these platforms can have advanced content moderation capabilities, user control, branding, and possibilities for private content.

REGISTERING A PLATFORM

The DOT.world platforms are designed for large communities and they become better and better as the community grows. Therefore, we recommend registering a platform only if you have a community larger than 25 people. When registering a platform, you are not allowed to register offensive names/slurs. Brand names are also not allowed unless you own them or you have permission to use their names.

For the open communities, we reserve the right to change the name. If you register a name which infringes this user agreement, or if there are less than 5 active users and 30 items added in a month, we may alter your platform's name or change it altogether. However, we will notify you if your platform's name will be changed. At the same time, platforms registered with the sole purpose of SEO will be removed.

USER CONTRIBUTIONS

Your contributions to the DOT.world platforms need to respect the DOT.world community rules as can be found in the contribution guidelines. We kindly ask you to contribute only 3rd party content which does not violate copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets or any other personal or proprietary right of any other party. We take no responsibility and we do not assume any liability for any contribution you or others make to the DOT.world platforms.

WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR USER CONTRIBUTIONS

StructWeb B.V. does not intervene in any such process other than by enabling users to structure existing 3rd party information. Therefore, we take no responsibility and we do not assume any liability for any contribution you or others make to the DOT.world platforms.

MODERATORS AND ADMINS

Being a moderator or an admin of an open community platform structure is an unofficial, voluntary position. Moderators and admins are selected by the platform initiators, or based on their user ranking and active contributions on the different DOT.world platforms. We reserve the right to revoke that position for any user, at any time. If you choose to moderate or administrate a DOT.world platform, you agree to the following:

You will not enter into any form of agreement on behalf of any DOT.world platform or StructWeb B.V. without our written approval.

You will not perform moderation or administrative actions in return for any form of compensation or favor from third-parties.

When you receive notice that there is content that violates this user agreement in a DOT.world structure, you agree to act responsively and take action.

ACCESS TO THE DOT.WORLD PLATFORMS

We may, in case of violations of this agreement or for any other reason we choose: (1) suspend your access to the DOT.world platforms, (2) suspend or terminate your account and/or (3) remove any of your contributions from any of the DOT.world platforms. However, in general we (StructWeb B.V.) we will always try - to the maximum extent - to be as transparent as possible about any actions taken by us impacting the DOT.world platforms and/or their communities.

DMCA

The DOT.world platforms are acting in compliance with 17 U.S.C. § 512 and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"). We are obliged to respond to any infringement notices and take appropriate actions under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") and other applicable intellectual property laws. If your copyrighted material has been posted on one of the DOT.world platforms, you can take part in the designated (democratic) processes on DOT.world which are designed to suit your interests. If you still want this material removed, you might submit our Notice and Takedown form. Please be aware that we strongly discourage using this form. The DOT.world platforms are only linking existing web-content and therefore, we strongly recommend addressing the source of information instead of targeting its presence on the DOT.world platforms. In many cases it won't make sense to file a legal complaint when you don't address the source. We suggest that you first contact an attorney for legal assistance on this matter.

GOVERNING LAW

We want you to enjoy the DOT.world platforms, so if you have an issue or dispute, you agree to raise it and try to resolve it with the other users in the following manner. On the DOT.world platforms you can start a discussion or open a voting round to delete or modify content. If you are not able to do this, or in case the community rejects your proposal, you have the option to contact the moderators and/or platform initiator. StructWeb B.V. shall always strive to design the regulations and democratic processes for the DOT.world platforms so that disputes are quickly resolved and so that the DOT.world platforms balance the interests of the different users. However, if you still feel wronged after following all of the above, you can contact us with feedback and concerns by emailing us at ethics@dot.world.

SEVERABILITY AND ENFORCEMENT

If any provision of this user agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the extent necessary to render it enforceable without losing its intent. If no such modification is possible, that provision will be severed from the rest of this agreement. If we do not enforce any right or provision in this user agreement, that is not to be deemed a waiver of our right to do so in the future.

CHANGES TO THIS USER AGREEMENT

This user agreement is the entire agreement between you and us concerning the DOT.world platforms. It supersedes all prior or contemporaneous agreements between you and us. We may modify this user agreement at any time. If we make changes to this agreement that affect your rights, we will provide advance notice and keep this edition available as an archive on the DOT.world platforms. By continuing to use the DOT.world platforms after a change to this agreement, you agree to those changes.
This user agreement is effective as of September 28th, 2016.
